Keep your car safe and NHRA compliant with Modern Racing’s 120psi or 60psi Pressure Switch. Both switches are normally-open and designed to trigger a safety device that will disable the car's power in emergency situations.

The 120psi Pressure Switch monitors your car's air pressure and when it drops below 120 psi, the switch deactivates your ignition. This keeps your car safe because without air pressure you can cause damage to vital components as well as a parachute failure.

The 60psi Pressure Switch is a part of the Modern Racing Installer Series 750A NHRA Fire System Kit. When the fire suppression bottle is activated, the Pressure Switch triggers the Solid-State Battery Disconnect, killing all power to the vehicle. This adds extra safety in the event that the driver nor track crew can reach either of the other two kill switches.

The Modern Racing Pressure Switches are vibration and shock tested to ensure they withstand the harsh environment of motorsports. They're designed to operate at 2,000 psi (6,000 psi proof pressure) and feature 1/8in NPT fittings, allowing them to be mounted directly on the bottle. This mounting placement greatly reduces the chances of early activation. Often a pressure drop occurs when items like your parachute or shifter are activated. The Modern Racing Pressure Switch reduces the chance of this pressure-drop causing a false reading.

The switches come as shown, prewired with a male connector, and include the female mating connector for ease of installation. The wiring is wrapped in a heat-resistance fiberglass-reinforced sleeve for a clean look and added protection.

See the NHRA 2019-2020 Rule Amendment here. Please note that there's a misprint, the switch must be a 120psi switch. The 120psi Pressure Switch can also be mounted anywhere before the regulator.
